CHILDREN CHURCH THEMES
Spiritual Development Studies via Children Church Themes is open to ALL ! TAWO and non-TAWO members, Sunday school volunteers or not, all are welcome. Facilitated by Rev. Dr. Vionela Vaughn-Austin.
The intention is to provide attendees with a great segue into exploring spiritual themes of gratefulness, service, peace, prayer, abundance, etc. On each spiritual theme, Rev. V speaks about embodying that theme, encouraging participants to find practices and ways to incorporate and integrate it into one’s being. Attendees are invited to reflect on those practices and share how they plan to incorporate them into their daily lives – with the understanding that children learn not just from what we do, but from what we
are. Particularly for those who are teachers and working with children, this activity is designed to be a deep dive into spiritual living as an act of spiritual education.
These sessions are open to anyone interested in exploring these themes on a personal and practical level. This activity meets on the 4th Sunday of the month at 5:00 to 6:00 pm PT on Zoom. You may register for the meeting link below.
“From each session, I have come away with a remembrance, a reminder, a re-cognition or re-commitment to a practice that would lead to my embodying that theme. That itself, has had more impact in my consciousness and living acts than reading any number of holy books. We want to impart that to the children as part of their spiritual development.” E Wu
